Brilliant kit for UK waters. The 6ft tube is highly visible even in the choppy conditions out past the breakwater. Having the whistle included is a great touch for BSAC safety requirements.
I used to piece together my safety gear, but this all-in-one scuba smb with reel is perfect. The 98ft dive reel is smooth, and the 316 steel clip hasn't shown a single spot of rust after a week of diving in Scotland.
Excellent quality buoy and the OPV works flawlessly on ascent. My only minor gripe is that the mesh bag is a bit snug when trying to pack it all away underwater while wearing thick 5mm drysuit gloves.
As a diving instructor, I highly recommend this kit to my students. The 6ft dive safety sausage stands tall on the surface, and having the spool and clip pre-assembled removes a lot of task loading for beginners.

Deployment Guide
- Before your dive, clip the mesh bag containing the complete scuba smb with reel securely to a D-ring on your BCD using the double-ended hook.
- When ready to ascend, unclip the kit and unfurl the 6ft dive safety sausage.
- Ensure the 98ft dive reel line is securely attached to the buoy's bottom D-ring.
- Hold the spool loosely in your left hand, and use your primary regulator exhaust or octopus to introduce a small burst of air into the open bottom of the buoy.
- Let go of the buoy, allowing it to shoot to the surface while letting the spool spin freely on your fingers.
- Keep tension on the line as you perform your safety stop, ensuring the buoy stands tall on the surface.
